Welcome to the Photographic Centre TCD The Photographic Centre is incorporated within Audio-Visual and Media Services, which is managed by Information Systems Services of Trinity College Dublin. The Centre is located in Room 2051 of the Arts Building, oppostie the Ui Cadhain lecture theatre.The facility provides a comprehensive photographic service to all Trinity College members of staff, producing visual photographic material to illustrate and enhance teaching, research and publication work, together with photographic illustrations for brochures, college exhibitions and web pages. Transparencies, prints and digital files are produced from book illustrations, text pages, diagrams, photographs, colour laser printouts, and from original three-dimensional objects, photographed using both traditional and digital studio camera and lighting equipment.. With the use of digital editing, images can also be retouched, toned, together with other special effects. Photographic work is undertaken for use in publications. The final product is either supplied in transparency, print or digital file format. A selection of publications for which the Photographic Centre has supplied material can be seen here Also photographed and held on file are prints and high resolution digital files of the buildings of Trinity College Dublin, together with illustrations of annual college events and activities. A selection of one hundred and seventy five of these images can be seen in the Galleries pages on this site. Personal callers to the Centre can view many more digital images. The College collection of paintings and sculpture, amounting to over four hundred images, has been fully recorded by the Photographic Centre. Most of this collection can be viewed in the publication 'Paintings and Sculptures in Trinity College Dublin' by Crookshank and Webb. Using the Photographic Centre Submission of your work requirements should be made by contacting the Photographic Centre directly. Contact details can be view here. However requests for photography of library material should be directed towards the library concerned. Normally work takes between 5 and 7 working days for completion. Please allow a further 5 to 7 days notice for photography booking requests. The staff will give you a completion date when you submit your work requirements. A work order form must be completed. These are available in the Photographic Centre and the college libraries. Costing of work is calculated using a three-tariff price list
