Staff Email - Password Expiry
The password you use for the Exchange email service for staff is your network login password. As outlined on our password expiry page and in order to improve College IT security, IS Services have implemented a policy whereby College users' network login password will expire every 180 days. You will be emailed 14-16 days in advance of password expiry and provided with instructions on how to update the password using TCD Password Manager.
However, should you fail to act on these instructions prior to the expiry date then your network login password will expire and you will not be able to access your email mailbox on the Exchange server.
If using an email client such as Microsoft Outlook or Entourage then you will not receive an explicit message stating that your password has expired. You will simply be repeatedly prompted for your password. Note in this eventuality that if you enter the password incorrectly 15 times that your College computer account will become locked out. To set a new network login password you should use TCD Password Manager. Alternatively you may attempt to login to Outlook Web Access (OWA) as outlined below.
If using Outlook Web Access (OWA) you may attempt to login to Outlook Web Access (OWA) and upon entering the expired password you will be prompted to confirm the current expired password, set a new password and verify it.
