Internet access method - TCDconnect

Service improvement works in recent times mean that external internet access is immediately available to students once authenticated for the TCDconnect service.

If you are connected to the Wi-Fi network on the TCDconnect service then you do not have to provide any additional authentication beyond your wireless network login credentials, which are usually saved on your computer. This means that once you are connected to the TCDconnect Wi-Fi network there are no additional steps to take in order to gain external internet access. In previous years it would have been necessary to input web browser proxy settings, but this is no longer required.

Those students in residences using a 'wired' network connection no longer have to use the 'keep-alive' page to gain access to external internet resources. Once authenticated for the TCDconnect service external internet access is immediately available.
